Kurintar

Kurintar is one of the pleasant places in Nepal right at the lap of nature. The scenic surrounding, valleys, gorges, sandy beaches and Trishuli River make Kurintar a stunning holiday destination for short trips. You can also visit the Manakamana temple from Kurintar which lies on a ridge overlooking the river valleys of Trishuli and Marsyangdi. It is at a height of 1000m. Nepalese believe Manakamana fulfills the wishes of her devotees giving her the name “wish fulfilling deity”. The hugely popular Manakamana Cable car connects the bottom station at Kurintar and the top station at Manakamana Temple. The lower station of Manakama Cable Car is 3 km from main Kurintar. The temple is on a steep hill which was a few days hike before the cable car was built. You can also get uninterrupted views of the mountain from the Lakhan Thapa Gufa which is a 3km walk uphill from Manakamana Temple. There is a restaurant that serves decent food at the foot of cable car station at Kurintar.

You can also camp on the beaches of Trishuli River and enjoy the scenic beauty around you along with a campfire. Kurintar has very few options to eat or stay overnight. There are up market options like Riverside Spring Resort but in general there are not a lot options you can choose from.
